I Gave You My Umbrella But The Wrong Directions

Sunday, March 14, 2010

It was windy and pouring rain last night, and you were looking for directions in the East Village. You were wet and cold, so I gave you my umbrella. Unfortunately, I later discovered that I gave you the wrong directions and I feel just awful about it. I hope you and your friends got to your destination without too much trouble.

  3. This one breaks my heart for some reason. The sweetness and good intentions are palpable.

There are a lot of umbrellas in our life right now since the little one has a bit of an umbrella-collecting habit.

  4. So much to love about this one: the yellow arm extending from the unseen narrator, the diminutive airborne figure, the raindrop pattern, & the lovely map on the main umbrella. If those streets are hand drawn & lettered as opposed to a collage, then I might have to walk naked through Manhattan during the next rainstorm!

  5. I just stumbled across your blog, but wanted to say I posted a missed connection that got seen by the person I miss connected with. Nothing really happened after the initial meeting, but it's nice to know we aren't alone and everyone is looking for someone to reach out to them.
